In 2018, 8yr old Brady was watching his favorite show – Live PD – when he noticed the dog wasn’t wearing a vest like his handler and wondered why. Mom Leah explained that equipment was expensive, and departments can’t always afford it. So Brady and his mom started a GoFundMe, and raised enough for 4 vests. They became an official 501(c)(3) non-profit charity early 2019, and have raised thousands of dollars and donated hundreds of vests since then – but they still need YOUR help!
The ethics Leah demonstrates by not sitting on donated funds, but using those funds to go back directly to the dogs, is truly admirable and we can’t commend the team enough! Furthermore, injured K9s take priority, and move to the top of the wait list to receive a LOF Defense Systems K9 StreetFighter from the charity.

Blueline K9 Conference Series continues with Worthless Handler and Denmother K9! This episode is jam packed with information, and filmed on location with our guests, so check us out on 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗧𝘂𝗯𝗲!
Both gents are return guests; the infamous Wortheless Handler joined us for Episode 40 (the only episode we’ve ever had to take down because it turned his life upside down!), and Denmother K9 joined us for Episode 99 (be sure to give that one a re-listen!).
Since Episode 40, Worthless Handler catches us up on K9 Bolo, who was donated and trained by K9’s of Valor and Pacesetter. A few months in, K9 Bolo has saved Worthless Handler’s life, found pounds of meth, apprehended when necessary, and has absolutely proven himself.
Since Episode 99, Denmother K9 retired in September 2021, and has been going through a slew of medical surgeries and cancer scares since, but is getting back into teaching courses. K9 medical, “It doesn’t happen until it does”.
All in all, the guys go into crazy, sobering stories about applying some techniques they have learned – and we cannot stress enough, it is important to take a class, and it can save lives. (And Eric rants about TikTok Cops, and a cop who was about to tow a marked cruiser with a K9 in it…!)

Your Working Dog Radio hosts, Eric @vanessk9 & Ted @ted_summers, sit down with former K9 handler, Coast Guard reservist, OIF/OEF Veteran, and owner of Ridgeside K9 Summerville, Tara Lee.
The gents chat with Ms. Lee about her early military career as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army (‘05-‘09) with a deployment to Iraq in 2006-2007, and then becoming an officer in the Coast Guard (‘09-‘11).
The hosts then learn about how Lee got into law enforcement with Arlington County Police Department in Virginia (‘11-‘15), while still remaining in the USCG reserves and deploying to Afghanistan in 2014.
Lee then moved to South Carolina and started with the Summerville Police Department. In 2016, Lee was selected as a K9 handler and was paired with Apart. In early 2017, their K-9 unit supervisor left law enforcement and Lee was selected as his replacement. She held that position until she left in July of 2021, (but not before she was on Live PD!).
In December 2021, Lee officially opened her pet dog business, Ridgeside K9 Summerville, SC. The hosts chat with Lee about the freedoms that has brought her.
